Over five weeks, 150 Levi9 employees from Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, and the Netherlands collectively covered 24,106 kilometres as part of the international BeStrong Challenge. By exceeding the original target of 23,860 kilometres, participants unlocked a €10,000 charity fund dedicated to supporting local organisations across the participating countries
The BeStrong Challenge was designed to encourage healthier habits through walking, running, cycling, and regular physical activity. Over the course of five weeks, participants logged their kilometres and workouts while contributing to a shared goal, proving that small everyday actions can create meaningful collective impact. By the end of the challenge, the team had exceeded the target by more than 240 kilometres.
Turning Healthy Habits into Collective Impact
In Serbia, participants voted to select the local charity that would receive the donation. The majority chose NURDOR, the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer. The initial €2,500 donation allocated to Serbia through the international fund was further increased through post-challenge activities, resulting in a total donation of €5,000 for NURDOR.
The campaign concluded with Movement, an event held in Novi Sad and Belgrade that brought together more than 100 employees. During the event, BeStrong participants received medals in recognition of their achievements and contribution to the challenge.
Doubling the Impact Through Participation
Movement featured 9 interactive zones inspired by different aspects of movement and wellbeing. Participants engaged in activities focused on strength, balance, focus, stretching, hydration, creativity, teamwork, and social connection. Each activity contributed to increasing the donation amount, successfully doubling the initial Serbian donation. The event’s central message,“Move for Good. Twice the Impact.”, reflected the idea that personal wellbeing and community impact can go hand in hand.
The donation will support the purchase of a Piezosurgery Plus device manufactured by Mectron for the Paediatric Neurosurgery Department of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia. This advanced surgical device enables highly precise cutting and processing of bone tissue while preserving surrounding soft tissue, making it particularly valuable in neurosurgical procedures involving children. Its introduction will contribute to improved treatment conditions and a more advanced standard of care for the youngest patients.
The initiative carries additional significance as it was completed during Gold September, the international awareness month dedicated to childhood cancer, and during European Mobility Week, which promotes active lifestyles and sustainable mobility. Together, these initiatives reinforce two important messages: taking care of our own health and supporting those who need help the most.
From Belgrade and Novi Sad to Iași, Lviv, Kyiv, and Amsterdam, Levi9 colleagues were united by a common purpose. While separated by thousands of kilometres, they collectively transformed every walk, ride, run, and workout into meaningful support for local communities.
In the end, the 24,106 kilometres covered during the challenge became far more than an impressive number. They became a symbol of what can happen when people move together towards a shared goal, turning healthy habits into real support for children facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
