Tech Team in the Spotlight is a Levi9 Novi Sad Delivery Center initiative that recognizes teams standing out through technical excellence, client impact, and the way they operate from the inside.
Teams are evaluated across five areas: technical excellence, innovation and problem-solving, client satisfaction and impact, measurable results, and team dynamics and leadership.
Midocean MTO Team
This time, the spotlight is on the Midocean MTO team – working with Midocean Brands, a leading supplier in the promotional products industry.
The team built the client’s platform from scratch, and that’s not just a technical achievement: it’s a system that reliably powers their business today and holds up even during peak demand.
Technical Excellence
The team ships quality increments every two weeks, grounded in clean code principles, modular architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
AI-powered coding tools – GitHub Copilot and internal agents – are integrated throughout the SDLC, alongside consistent adherence to security standards. The stack: React, Lit, .NET, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Cosmos DB.
Innovation
The platform runs on a non-relational architecture powered by Cosmos DB and supports an ecosystem of over 1,000 products across France, Italy, Germany, the Benelux countries, the UK, the Nordics, the CEE region, Poland, and export markets.
Code quality is tracked through quarterly SonarQube analyses and systematic technical debt resolution; quarterly performance optimization covers both internal tools for faster product configuration and the core system used by end customers.
Measurable Results
25+ releases per year. The vast majority of deployments are stable and require minimal follow-up, and when issues do appear, they’re largely tied to external integrations rather than core functionality.
The team maintains a steady delivery pace even during high-demand periods, and critical fixes are delivered within one business day.

Client & Team
Client feedback has been consistently strong, with particular recognition for the team’s proactivity: they go beyond the defined scope, surface risks early, and come prepared with solutions.
Communication is open and regular, and the team consistently proposes ways to apply AI and emerging technologies to shorten time-to-market. Ownership spans every layer – architecture, development, testing, and infrastructure – and many of the team’s practices have been adopted by other teams on the client side. Their AI initiatives have become a source of inspiration across the client’s broader ecosystem.
AI Across the SDLC
What makes this team a model for others is how deliberately they brought AI into their work, across the entire software development life cycle rather than in one part of it. That was possible because the foundation was already strong: their quarterly success rate has stayed between 85% and 90% for the past year and a half, and their sprint planning is mature enough to keep a healthy backlog ready at least two sprints ahead.
Their relationship with the customer runs as a real partnership rather than a classic outsourcing setup, with strategy and vision shared openly so the team can align on the targets and help challenge and refine them together. That stability is what allowed them to introduce AI in a structured, meaningful way.
Building on that, the team is mapping AI agents to each stage of the SDLC. In ideation and requirements, agents support refinement and context enrichment. In design and development, they are operationalizing a Figma-to-code agent and standardizing agents for coding, review, and unit testing. Automated testing, deployment, and documentation are next, with dedicated agents planned for each stage.

Congratulations to the Midocean MTO team: Žarko Bakurski, Uroš Jović, Ivan Arsenović, Filip Vinčić, Dragana Popi, and Sofija Gatalo!
Thank you to every team that has been in the spotlight so far – we look forward to what we build together next.
