Tech Team in the Spotlight – Asics Mobile Team

At Levi9, we know that exceptional technical achievements are rarely the work of individuals alone. They’re the result of strong collaboration, shared ownership, and a team effort driven by knowledge and initiative. That’s why apart from the Belgrade & Zrenjanin iniciative – Tech Leader of the Quarter, we launched a new initiative within the Novi Sad Delivery Center, Tech Team in the Spotlight, to recognize the teams that go above and beyond to deliver high-quality results through expertise, innovation, and teamwork.

This initiative puts the spotlight on teams that demonstrate outstanding technical delivery, introduce creative and scalable solutions, make a clear impact for clients and users, and nurture a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration.

What are the key ingredients for outstanding TaaS today?

Levi9 offers Team as a Service (TaaS) to varios clients, providing dedicated, scalable development teams tailored to their specific business needs and goals. This is why we decided to put them in the spotlight, to showcase their successes and highlight the impact they make.

The evaluation is based on five key categories:

  • Technical Excellence – code quality, architecture, CI/CD and DevOps efficiency, and security best practices
  • Innovation & Problem-Solving – use of new technologies, frameworks, or creative approaches to overcome complex challenges
  • Customer Satisfaction & Impact – tangible value delivered to the client, positive feedback, and clear business outcomes
  • Measurable Outcomes – delivery speed, low defect rates, and efficiency in resolving issues
  • Team Dynamics & Leadership – ownership, proactive mindset, and cross-functional collaboration.

First Team in the Spotlight: Asics Mobile Team

The first that received the Tech Team in the Spotlight recognition is Asics Mobile Team! This multidisciplinary team is building a global mobile app for Asics, delivering consistent quality across markets with different e-commerce platforms and regional requirements.

ASICS stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, “a sound mind in a sound body”, reflecting their philosophy of promoting holistic wellbeing through movement and sport. And that’s where the Levi9 team stepped in to help bring this vision to life through technology.

What colleagues highlighted about this teams was that they developed a clean, scalable architecture that supports a single mobile app across multiple regions. Their microservice approach, built in Spring Boot and GraphQL, enables a unified API layer that abstracts platform differences while dynamically adapting to local configurations. The entire setup is cloud-native and performance-optimized, ensuring long-term maintainability and cross-region consistency.

And the results speak for themselves: the app launched in Japan just five months after development started – one of the fastest project deliveries in Asics history. Arabia followed in four months, and North America is already next in line. In Japan alone, the app has been downloaded 135,000 times – 68% of the goal – with an in-app rating of 4.3 stars and nearly 40% of users returning weekly.

Beyond delivery, the team’s way of working stands out. From PI planning and strict Definition of Ready, to thorough QA and testing practices, they maintain high quality while moving fast. Team members actively contribute to feature definition, bring technical ideas to the table, and work closely with stakeholders from Japan, Arabia, North America, Australia, and Europe – always with the bigger picture in mind.

Big kudos to Asics Mobile team for their outstanding results: Dragan Biserčić, Dionizij Malacko, Jovan Najdovski, Marko Marinković, Ljubica Ivanković, Danica Ravničanin, Vukan Marković, Kristian Kis, László Soós and Jelena Kutlača Milošević! We are excited to witness their future success and to see what the next team in the spotlight will be!
