October in the Sign of Cybersecurity – Local Highlights from Secure9

October is globally recognized as Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and at Levi9, this period is traditionally marked by Secure9, a week dedicated to learning, awareness, and practical security insights. This year’s theme, “Inhale, Exhale, Secure”, reminded us that cybersecurity is not only about technology – it’s also about mindset and calm decision-making in complex situations.

One Lecture from Serbia

In our offices, Secure9 was filled with engaging sessions, discussions, and interactive activities that connected technical expertise with mindful awareness. Among speakers, we had our local representative, Igor Janković, Tech Lead from our Belgrade office, who emphasized the importance of understanding new risks brought by emerging technologies:

“New technologies appear almost daily and bring great advantages, but at the same time open new risks. A good example is prompt injection – a technique showing how easily AI-based systems can be manipulated. To truly benefit from these technologies, we must stay aware, keep learning, and continuously adapt.”

Happy Hours and Mindful Lunches

As a part of event promotion, our Novi Sad, Belgrade, and Zrenjanin offices hosted Secure9 activations, combining knowledge-sharing with moments of relaxation and connection. Colleagues gathered for Happy Hours and mindful lunches, enjoyed healthy food, participated in quick mindfulness activities, and joined short discussions on how to “stay mindful, not mindless” when facing a security incident. These sessions, led by our Information Security Officers Vladislava Stanivuković and Veljko Karadžić, reminded everyone that a clear and calm mind is often the best defense.

The week concluded with our traditional Capture The Flag (CTF9) challenge – a four-hour cybersecurity competition where teams of Levi9 colleagues, partners, and clients solved real-life security tasks to earn points and prizes.

Secure9 continues to be an important initiative that brings security closer to all of us – not just as a technical responsibility, but as a shared culture and mindset that starts with every individual.
